Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Wheel Knuckle
Special Tool(s)
Remover, Front Wheel Hub 205-D070 (D93P-1175-B) or equivalent
Remover, Tie Rod End 211-001 (TOOL-3290-D) or equivalent
Remover, Steering Arm 211-003 (T64P-5390-F) or equivalent
Installer/Remover, C-Frame and Screw 211-023 (T74-3044-A1) or equivalent
1. Remove the center cap from the front wheel.
2. Loosen the hub nut.
3. Put the vehicle in NEUTRAL and position on a hoist.
4. Remove and discard the nut and washer assembly.
5. Remove the brake disc.

Remove the bolts.

Position aside the anchor plate, brake caliper and pads as an assembly.

Remove the brake disc.
6. Using the special tool, separate the outboard front wheel halfshaft joint from the wheel hub.
7. Remove the brake shield.
8. Remove the bolt and the wheel speed sensor from the wheel hub.
9. Remove the three bolts and the wheel hub.
10. Remove the tie-rod end castellated nut.

Remove the cotter pin.

Remove the castellated nut.
11. CAUTION: Do not use a hammer to separate the tie-rod from the wheel knuckle or damage to the wheel knuckle will result.
CAUTION: Do not damage the tie-rod boot when installing the special tool.
Using the special tool, separate the tie-rod end from the front wheel knuckle.
12. Support the front suspension lower arm securely.
13. Remove the lower ball joint castellated nut.

Remove the cotter pin.

Remove the castellated nut.
14. CAUTION: Do not use a hammer to separate the ball joint from the wheel knuckle or damage to wheel knuckle will result.
CAUTION: Do not damage the ball joint boot when installing the special tool.
Using the special tool, separate the front wheel knuckle from the front suspension lower arm.
15. Remove the wheel knuckle.

Remove the pinch bolt.

Remove the wheel knuckle.
16. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
