Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid: Service and Repair

Material
Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL position it on a hoist.
2. NOTE: If equipped, the transmission servo heat shield needs to be unclipped from the fluid pan rail and positioned out of the way for fluid pan
removal.
If equipped, loosen the nut and position the heat shield out of the way.
3. Place a drain pan under the transmission fluid pan.
4. Drain the transmission fluid. For additional information, refer to Fluid Pan, Gasket and Filter.
5. Remove the transmission fluid filter. 1 Remove the transmission fluid filter screw. 2 Remove the transmission fluid filter.
6. NOTE: Main control assembly does not need to be removed for solenoid service.
Remove wire loom guide and protector.

Carefully lift up on wire loom guide and protector and disengage the retaining pins from the solenoid clamps.
