Procedure

1. Position transmission into Neutral or Park and connect a tachometer to the engine.

2. Operate engine until normal operating temperature is obtained.

3. Place A/C heat selector to "OFF" position.

4. Disconnect and plug vacuum hose from thermactor air bypass valve.

5. Position transmission into specified gear and check curb idle speed. If curb idle speed is not within specification, turn curb idle speed screw, Figs.

88 and 89, until correct curb idle speed is obtained.

6. Position transmission into Neutral or Park and momentarily increase engine speed.

7. Position transmission into specified gear and check curb idle speed, adjust if necessary.
