PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION

Programmable Module Installation (PMI) Using The Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) When The Original Module Is Available

NOTE: If PMI fails on first attempt, exit the diagnostic tool PMI application and carry out the procedure again.

1. Connect the IDS and identify the vehicle as normal.
2. From the Toolbox icon, select Module Programming and press the check mark.
3. Select  and highlight Programmable Module Installation.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the OFF position, and press the check mark.
5. Install the new module and press the check mark.

NOTE: For vehicle security module (VSM) programming only, refer to steps a-d below, all others skip to 6.

a.Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.
b.Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
c.Open drivers door.
d.Unlock the doors using the interior trim switch.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the ON position, and press the check mark.
7. The Module Configuration Complete.
8. Test module for correct operation.

NOTE: If PMI fails on first attempt, exit the diagnostic tool PMI application and carry out the procedure again.

1. Install the new module.
2. Connect the IDS and identify the vehicle as normal.
3. From the Toolbox icon, select and highlight Module Programming. Then highlight the module that was installed and press the check mark.
4. Select and highlighyt Programmable Module Installation. Then highlight the module that was installed and press the check mark.

NOTE: For vehicle security module (VSM) programming only, refer to steps a-d below, all others skip to 5.

a.Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.
b.Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
c.Open drivers door.
d.Unlock the doors using the interior trim switch.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the RUN position, and press the check mark.
6. The IDS retrieves the module data, automaticlly downloads the data into the new module, and displays Module Configuation Complete.
7. If the data is not available, the IDS displays a screen stating to contact the As-Built Data Center. Retrieve the data from the technician service

publication website at this time and press the check mark.

8. Enter the module data and press the check mark.
9. The IDS downloads the data into the new module and displays Operation Successful - Programming Complete.

10. Test module for correct operation.
