Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair
Dual Converter Y-Pipe Removal and Installation
All vehicles
1. Prepare the vehicle for dual converter Y-pipe removal.
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the muffler and tail pipe assembly.
Vehicles with 4.6L and 5.4L engines
2. NOTE: On the 4.2L engine, the two upstream heated oxygen sensors (H02S) are located on the exhaust manifolds and do not need to be
removed.
Disconnect the H02S and the catalyst monitor sensor.
All vehicles
3. Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the nuts.
