SUCH AS DOORS, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CONSOLE DOOR, LATCHES, STRIKERS, SEATS AND HOOD LATCHES.

PLEASE REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE VEHICLE SHOP MANUAL TO DETERMINE LOCATION OF THE FRONT AIRBAG SENSORS.

THE SIDE AIRBAG SENSORS ARE LOCATED AT OR NEAR THE BASE OF THE B-PILLAR.

TO DEPLETE THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND WAIT AT LEAST ONE
MINUTE. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT AUXILIARY BATTERIES AND POWER SUPPLIES (IF EQUIPPED).

1.

Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.

2.

Remove the central junction box cover located under the left side of the instrument panel.

3.

Remove the parking brake release lever retaining bolts.

4.

Remove the hood release lever retaining bolts.

5.

Remove the six (6) instrument panel steering column cover retaining bolts, then carefully unsnap the cover.

Disconnect the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering column.

7.

Attach the Restraints System Diagnostic Tool 418-F088 (105-R0012) to the vehicle harness side of the clockspring electrical connector at the base
of the steering column.

8.

Remove the relay cover panel from the top of the passenger side of the instrument panel.

9.

Disconnect the passenger side airbag module connector.

10.

Attach the Restraints System Diagnostic Tool 418-F088 (105-R0012) to the vehicle harness side of the passenger side airbag electrical connector.

11.

Position the seats as far forward as possible to provide access to the retractors.

12.

On the passenger side, open the D-ring cover and remove the 15 mm retaining bolt. Remove the D-ring from the mounting stud.

NOTE:

The trim panel pushpins are disengaged by pushing the center button in about 1/4 inch.

13.

Disengage the pushpins and remove the passenger side upper corner trim panel.

14.

Disengage the pushpins and position aside the passenger side lower corner trim panel. It does not have to be removed.

15.

Disconnect the passenger side retractor pretensioner connector.

16.

Attach the Restraints System Diagnostic Tool 418-133 (40-009) to the vehicle harness side of the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner
electrical connector.

17.

On the driver side, open the D-ring cover and remove the 15 mm retaining bolt. Remove the D-ring from the mounting stud.

18.

Disengage the pushpins and remove the driver side upper corner trim panel.

19.

Disengage the pushpins and position aside the driver side lower corner trim panel. It does not have to be removed.

20.

Disconnect the driver side retractor pretensioner connector.
