Backing Plate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

-

Remove brake shoes and linings.

-

Remove the axle shaft; refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.

-

Remove the rear wheel cylinder; refer to Wheel Cylinder service and repair.

Parking Brake Cable And Conduit

-

Remove the rear parking brake rear cable and conduit.

Compress the retainers.

Remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit.

Brake Backing Plate Nuts And Bolts

-

Remove the brake backing plate bolts and nuts.

-

Remove the brake backing plate.

INSTALLATION:

Brake Backing Plate Installation Specifications

-

Install the brake backing plate.

Position the brake backing plate.

Install the brake backing plate bolts and nuts.
