Inspect the fuel lines in the area near the fuel filter (located at the midpoint of the left side frame rail). Pull back the convolute to inspect both front
and rear fuel lines and connector crimps for damage such as wear or abrasion on the braided flex hose. See Figure 1.

If no damage is observed, go to the next step.

If the FRONT fuel line is damaged, proceed to the appropriate fuel line replacement procedure in this Attachment III.

In the rare case of REAR fuel line damage, call the Recall Hotline at 1-800-325-5621 for further direction.

Inspect the fuel lines in the front retaining bracket for leaks. This bracket is located at the top left-hand portion of the transmission bell housing
and can be viewed from below the vehicle.

If a fuel leak is present, the fuel line assembly must be replaced. Go to the appropriate replacement procedure in this Attachment III.

If no leaks are found in this area, go to the next step.
