Removal - 4X2 Models
1.
Install a memory saver, then disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING
FUEL IN THE FUEL SYSTEM REMAINS UNDER HIGH PRESSURE EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING. BEFORE
REPAIRING OR DISCONNECTING ANY OF THE FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS, THE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE
RELIEVED TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL SPRAYING OF FUEL, CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY OR A FIRE HAZARD.
WARNING
ADEQUATE VENTILATION IS REQUIRED WHEN WORKING IN A CONFINED AREA WITH FUEL AND FUEL RELATED
COMPONENTS.
WARNING
DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY
FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE VAPORS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY IGNITE. FAILURE TO
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
WARNING
THIS PROCEDURE INVOLVES FUEL HANDLING. BE PREPARED FOR FUEL SPILLAGE AT ALL TIMES AND ALWAYS
OBSERVE FUEL HANDLING PROCEDURES. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL
INJURY.
2.
Relieve the fuel system pressure as follows:

Remove the fuel supply manifold Schrader valve cap and attach an EFI/CFI fuel pressure gauge.

Slowly open the manual valve on the fuel pressure gauge to relieve the fuel system pressure.

Remove the EFI/CFI fuel pressure gauge and replace the Schrader valve cap.
3.
Remove the safety clips, then disconnect the two (2) fuel line spring lock couplers at the fuel supply manifold.
4.
Turn the air suspension switch off, if equipped, then raise and support the vehicle on a hoist.
5.
Remove the safety clips, then disconnect the two (2) rear fuel line connectors.
6.
Remove the rear fuel line bracket retaining nuts from the outside of the frame rail.
7.
Remove the fuel lines from the rear transmission-mounted fuel line retaining clip.
8.
Disconnect the transmission wiring harness from the front fuel line retaining bracket.
9.
Remove the front fuel line retaining bracket from the transmission bell housing.
10.
Remove the fuel line assembly by routing it out over the rear of the transmission.
Installation - 4X2 Models
1.
Install the new fuel line assembly over the rear of the transmission.
2.
Install the front fuel line retaining bracket to the transmission. Tighten to 59 Nm (44 lb-ft).
3.
Reconnect the transmission wiring harness to the front fuel line retaining bracket.
4.
Install the fuel lines to the rear transmission-mounted fuel line retaining clip.
5.
Install the rear fuel line bracket. Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
