Subject:
Safety Recall 96S62 - Certain 1997 Model Year F-150 Series Trucks - Seat Belt Retention
Affected Vehicles
Certain 1997 model year F-150 Series trucks built from 10/1/95 through 4/30/96.
Note:
Some of the vehicles affected by Safety Recall 96S62 are also affected by Safety Recall 96S59 involving the PCV Tube Foam Insulation. Please
check OASIS. Dealers are to complete both recalls, if applicable, before releasing the vehicle.
Reasons For Recall
This action is necessary because on a small number of the affected vehicles, a seat belt anchorage bolt may be missing or misinstalled. If a bolt is missing
or misinstalled, the protection provided to an occupant by the safety belt could be reduced and risk of injury could be increased in an accident.
To correct this condition, the seat belt anchorages will be inspected and, if a bolt is missing or misinstalled, it will be installed.
