Air Bag Deactivation Switch: Description and Operation

The Passenger Air Bag Defeat (PAD) switch:

-

Allows the passenger air bag deployment circuit to be disabled by inserting the ignition key into the PAD switch lock cylinder and turning the key.

-

Should be used whenever a child safety seat is being used in the front passenger seating position.

-

Contains a Light Emitting Diode (LED) that indicates when the PAD switch is activated.

-

Is located on the center instrument panel just below the climate control vent.
