Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair
Dual Converter Y-Pipe
Removal and Installation
All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the muffler and tail pipe assembly and, if equipped, the muffler extension pipe.
Vehicles with 4.6L and 5.4L engines
3. NOTE: On the 4.2L engine, the two upstream Heated Oxygen Sensors (H02S) are located on the exhaust manifolds and do not need to be
removed.
Disconnect the H02S and the catalyst monitor sensor.
4. Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove the four converter-to-manifold nuts.
