LIGHT TRUCK:
1997 F-150
ISSUE:
An "open" Fuse 14 and non-functioning interior lamps and power windows/door locks may occur on some vehicles. This may be caused by the inside
door handle mechanism chafing the -14A005- wire harness.
ACTION:
Reposition the wire harness and repair chafed wire. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the door trim panel. Refer to the 1997 F-150 Workshop Manual, Page 501-05-9.
2.
Disconnect door latch rod from the inside door handle mechanism.
3.
Carefully remove the watershield.
4.
Inspect wiring harness at the door handle (Figure 1).
