Removal
WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly
flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before servicing or disconnecting any
of the fuel lines or fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spraying of fuel, causing personal
injury or a fire hazard.
1. Disconnect the fuel supply hose spring lock coupling.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Drain the cooling system.
4. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
5. Release the upper radiator hose clamp and position the upper radiator hose aside.
6. Release the heater hose clamp and remove and position the heater hose aside.
7. Disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling.
8. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
9. Remove the power steering reservoir support bracket bolt.
10. Remove the 2 power steering reservoir support bracket bolts and the power steering reservoir support bracket.
11. Disconnect the injection pressure (IPR) sensor electrical connector.
12. Disconnect the IPR sensor vacuum connector.
13. Remove the brake booster bracket nut and disconnect the brake booster tube and position aside the brake booster bracket and tube.
14. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system module-to-exhaust manifold tube.
