3. CAUTION: Use the holding feature to prevent the rod from turning while removing or installing the nut.
While holding the shock absorber rod, remove the nut and the shock absorber.

Discard the nut.

To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the shock absorber upper mount.
5. Remove the insulator.
6. Remove the dust tube.
7. Carefully release the spring compressor and remove the coil spring.
8. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
