Door/Trunk Ajar Indicator/Lamp: Description and Operation
The Generic Electronic Module (GEM) and Central Timer Module (CTM) control the Door ajar (warning lamp and single tone).
The following distinct chime rate is used to indicate warning. Door ajar warning is a single chime.
Door Ajar Warning Chime
The door ajar warning chime warns that a door has become ajar. The door ajar warning chime is a single tone with the duration of one second. The
chime will sound when:

GEM: Driver or passenger door initially becomes ajar while the ignition switch is in the RUN position.

CTM: Passenger door initially becomes ajar while the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
The door ajar warning chime inputs are:
^
Ignition switch RUN position (battery potential on both RUN and RUN/ACC inputs).
^
Door ajar switches (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
