Air Bag Deactivation Switch: Description and Operation
The Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) switch:

is located on the center of the instrument panel below the climate control vent.
^
contains a Light Emitting Diode (LED) that indicates when the PAD switch is activated.
^
allows the passenger air bag deployment circuit to be disabled by inserting the ignition key into the PAD switch lock cylinder and turning the key
to the OFF position.
^
should be used to disable the passenger air bag deployment circuit whenever a child safety seat is being used in the front passenger seating
position.
