Rotate outer race while applying pressure. If bearing rotation is rough, replace clutch release hub and bearing.

Inspect for any surface scoring or buffs that may impede the sliding motion of the clutch release hub and bearing. Any scoring or burrs should
be polished off with a fine grade of emery paper.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the clutch release hub and bearing.

Lubricate the clutch release hub and bearing at sliding points with Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C or -K or equivalent meeting Ford
specification ESA-M1C75-B.

Position the (A) spring and (B) clutch release hub and bearing onto clutch slave cylinder.

Push the clutch release hub and bearing against the spring.

Install the retainer ring.

Position the clutch slave cylinder.

Install the bolts.
3. Install the transmission.
