Fluid leakage in the left (driver's) side area of the oil pan may be caused by an undertorqued pipe plug(s).
Some vehicles built before February 7, 1983, may exhibit a fluid leakage at the left side area of transmission oil pan gasket. Prior to servicing the suspect
oil pan gasket:

Clean off all traces of transmission fluid.

Test drive vehicle and then observe the concern area.

If fluid leakage is occurring from a pipe plug(s), the following service procedure should be performed:
1.
Remove the suspect plug(s).
2.
Clean plug threads and reinstall to proper torque specifications (8-16 N-m - 6-12 lbs.ft.) and road test.
