Remove the front spring shackle retaining nut. Position the parking brake bracket aside (left side only). See Figure 8.

Remove the front spring shackle retaining bolt, then remove the spring.

Transfer the rear shackle to a new spring. Tighten the shackle retaining bolt hand-tight only, at this time.
12.
Install the spring into the vehicle. Install the front shackle bolt to hold the spring in place.
13.
Install the rear shackle bolt. Do not install either retaining nut at this time.
14.
Install the spring spacer to the top of the rear axle.
15.
Raise the rear axle to contact the spring spacer. Do not put tension on the spring.
16.
Install the U-bolt spring plate to the top of the spring.
17.
Install the U-bolts. Tighten the nuts to 98-132 Nm (72-97 lb-ft).
18.
Install the parking brake bracket on the front shackle retaining bolt (left side only).
19.
Install the front shackle retaining nut. Tighten the nut to 98-132 Nm (72-97 lb-ft).
20.
Install the rear shackle retaining nut. Tighten the upper and lower retaining nuts to 98-132 Nm (72-97 lb-ft).
21.
Remove the adjustable jack.
