Lock shift cable lock tab. See Figure 6.

Lower vehicle.

Remove weight from gearshift lever.

Move gearshift lever from detent to detent and compare with transmission settings. Verify that the vehicle will start in Park or Neutral and
backup lamps illuminate in Reverse. Repeat step 17 if adjustment is incorrect.
18.
Perform the following adjustment only when the transmission shift cable is adjusted properly and the shift indicator is not aligned correctly.

Adjust shift indicator cable as follows:

Rotate gearshift lever clockwise until it bottoms out (first gear), then rotate two (2) detents counterclockwise (Drive position).

Place eight (8) pound weight on gearshift lever.
