Differential Case: Service and Repair
Axle Tube Disassembly and Assembly
DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove the front axle tube from the front drive axle assembly, please refer to Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints

2. Position and secure the front axle tube assembly in a vise.
3. Remove the clutch gear.
(1) Remove the gasket from the sealing groove and flange face.
(2) Push the axle shaft in and remove the snap ring.
(3) Remove the clutch gear.
4. Remove the (A) steel thrust washer and (B) tanged thrust washer.
5. Remove the axle shaft assembly.
