ISSUE:
Non-engagement of the front axle (4X4), "clicking" and "grinding" heard during 4X4 engagement, and/or "clicking" heard while driving straight or in a
LH turn in 4X2 engagement may occur on some vehicles. This may be caused by axial thrust loads on the shift fork assembly.
ACTION:
Confirm customer concern and install Front Drive Axle Repair Kit (F75Z-3N139-KT). The kit contains a gear tooth configuration that reduces axial
thrust loads on the shift fork. Refer to Instruction Sheet I.S. 7163 included with the repair kit for service procedure details.
The Front Drive Axle Repair Kit (F75Z-3N139-KT) contains the following items:
