Extension Housing: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING:  THE ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM MUST BE SHUT OFF PRIOR TO HOISTING,
JACKING, OR TOWING AN AIR SUSPENSION VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY TURNING OFF THE AIR
SUSPENSION SWITCH LOCATED IN THE RH KICK PANEL AREA. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN UNEXPECTED
INFLATION OR DEFLATION OF THE AIR SPRINGS WHICH MAY RESULT IN SHIFTING OF THE VEHICLE DURING THESE
OPERATIONS. 

2. Raise and support the vehicle
3. Drain the transmission fluid

4. Remove and support the rear driveshaft. 

(1) Remove the four bolts. 
(2) Remove the rear driveshaft.

5. Remove the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).  

(1) Disconnect the electrical connector. 
(2) Remove the bolt. 
(3) Remove the VSS.

6. Use (A) Hi-Lift Jack to support the (B) transmission.

Secure with the (C) strap.
