F 150 4WD Pickup V8-4.6L SOHC VIN W (1998)
1. On (RC) (SWB), install the torsion bar crossmember support and torsion bars.
2. Preload the torsion bar.
(1) Tighten the torsion bar tool until the new adjustment bolt and nut can be installed.
(2) Turn the adjustment bolt until the preliminary adjustment measurement is reached (the recorded length of the old adjustment bolt).
CAUTION: The torsion bar adjustment bolt is coated with dry Loctite and must be replaced if it is backed off or removed. Failure to do so can
cause the adjustment bolt to loosen up during operation and a loss of vehicle alignment.
3. Remove the torsion bar tool and adapters.
