64. Verify the vacuum motor operation (disengage).

Use the vacuum pump to apply vacuum to the inner vacuum port to move the shift lever inboard. Rotate one axle to verify disengagement.
65. Remove the axle assembly from the Bench Mounted Holding Fixture and place it on the bench.
66. Use Ford Black Silicone Rubber F4AZ-19562-B or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A1 and ESE-M46195-A to fill the
sealing groove on the axle housing cover.
67. Install the axle housing cover.

Position the axle housing cover.

Install the bolts.
68. Fill the differential housing and install the oil filler plug.

Use Motorcraft SAE75W90 4x4 Axle Lubricant XY-75W90-QL meeting Ford specification WSP-M2C201-A or equivalent.
69. Install the axle assembly.
