Visually inspect the tires to determine if shoulder (toe) wear exists (Figure 1). Measure the tread depth of each rib and compare it to the inside
shoulder (Figure 2). If tread depth of the inside shoulder is worn more than 1/2 of the tread depth of other ribs, the tires are exhibiting inside
shoulder (toe) wear.

If shoulder wear is found, follow Steps a or b.
a.
If the inside shoulder ribs are worn to 5/32" (4 mm) or less, replace both front tires with new tires. Also inspect the rear tires for abnormal
wear (if rotated) and replace if necessary. Ensure that the camber and caster readings are within specification, set the front total toe to 0.30
+/- 0.05 degrees.
b.
If front tires are showing early signs of inside shoulder wear but tread depth is acceptable, rotate the tires from front to rear DO NOT
CRISS-CROSS. Ensure that the camber and caster readings are within specification, set the front total toe to 0.30 +/- 0.05 degrees.
