7. Remove the upper ball joint nut and separate the upper ball joint from the knuckle.

Discard the upper ball joint nut.

To install, tighten to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.).
8. CAUTION: Do not damage the hub seal.
NOTE: Allow the steering knuckle to swing outward while keeping the halfshaft pushed inward.
Once clearance is available, remove the halfshaft outboard end and integrated wheel end from the hub bearing.
9. Remove the integrated wheel end from the halfshaft outboard end.
10. Remove the 6 halfshaft flange-to-axle shaft flange bolts.

To install, tighten to 82 Nm (60 ft. lbs.).
