Secure the seat belt anchor bolt to the floor. Tighten the bolt to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

Remove the Restraint System Diagnostic Tool from the driver side seat belt retractor electrical connector, then connect the harness connector to
the retractor connector.

Perform a system proveout by turning the ignition key from OFF to RUN and visually monitoring the airbag readiness light on the instrument
panel. The airbag readiness light will illuminate for approximately six (6) seconds and then turn oft. If an airbag Supplemental Restraint System
(SRS) fault is present, the airbag readiness light will either:

a.

fail to light

b.

remain lit continuously

c.

flash

The flashing may not occur until after approximately 30 seconds after the ignition switch has been turned from OFF to RUN. This is the time
required for the airbag diagnostic monitor to complete the testing of the system.

If the airbag system requires repair, the repair must be made by a qualified technician. Refer to the appropriate service repair manual for diagnostic
procedures.

If the airbag readiness light remains off and there are no audible tones (beeps) after the proveout, the airbag system is operational.

NOTE:

The trim panel pushpins must be "reset" to make them ready for installation. Push the center button back out so the end of the button is
protruding from the face of the pushpin about 1/4 inch.

Install the driver side lower corner trim panel and secure with pushpins.

6.

Install the driver side upper corner trim panel and secure with pushpins.

NOTE:

If the safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, replace it with a new one.

Position the driver side D-ring to the mounting stud and install the retaining bolt. Tighten the bolt to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft). Close the cover.

8.

Remove the Restraint System Diagnostic Tool from the passenger side seat belt retractor electrical connector, then connect the harness connector
to the retractor connector.

9.

Install the passenger side lower corner trim panel and secure with pushpins.

10.

Install the passenger side upper corner trim panel and secure with pushpins.

NOTE:

If the safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, replace it with a new one.

11.

Position the passenger side D-ring to the mounting stud and install the retaining bolt. Tighten the bolt to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft). Close the cover.

12.

Position the seats rearward.

13.

Remove the Restraints System Diagnostic Tool from the vehicle harness side of the passenger side airbag electrical connector.

14.

Connect the passenger side airbag electrical connector.

15.

Install the instrument panel relay cover.

16.

Remove the Restraints System Diagnostic Tool from the vehicle harness side of the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering
column.

17.

Connect the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering column.

18.

Install the instrument panel steering column cover and install the retaining bolts. Tighten the 7 mm screws to 2 Nm (18 lb-in). Tighten the 8 mm
screws to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

19.

Position the hood release lever and install the retaining bolts. Tighten the screws to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
