Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the accelerator control splash shield.

Remove the bolts.

Remove the shield.

3. Remove the idle air control valve.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Disconnect the throttle bypass hose.

Remove the bolts.

Remove the IAC valve.

5

Remove and discard the IAC valve gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the idle air control valve.

Position the IAC valve and gasket.

2

Install the bolts in two stages:
-

8-10 N.m (71-89 Lb/In)

-

Tighten them an additional 85-95 degrees.

NOTE:  A new IAC valve gasket must be installed.
