4. If removed, position the axle shaft dust deflector for installation.

Position the axle bearing seal plate on the press bed.

Position the special tool.

Position the axle shaft dust deflector.
5. If removed, use a suitable press to press the axle shaft dust deflector on the axle shaft.
6. Insert the axle shaft into the axle housing tube.
7. Lubricate the steel thrust washer.

Use Premium Long Life Grease XG-1-C or -K or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B.
8. Install the tanged thrust washer and the steel thrust washer.
