Remove the tape to expose the bare metal around the plug weld areas. See Figure 42.

Position the new outer panel onto the bed. Once positioned, do not pull the panel away from the bed. If repositioning is necessary, slide the panel.
This maintains the proper contact between the components and the adhesive.
