To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
13. Install the front seat backrest.
14. Install the affected seat and repower the SRS.
15. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
Front Safety Belt Retractor - Without Seat Integrated Restraints (SIR)

Removal and Installation
WARNING:

Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) vehicle and when handling an air bag module.
This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.

All safety belt assemblies (including retractors, belt tension sensor [BTS] if equipped, buckles, shoulder belt height adjusters [if
equipped], child safety seat tether attachments and attaching hardware) should be inspected after every collision. All new belt assemblies
should be installed unless a qualified technician finds the assemblies show no damage and operate correctly. Belt assemblies not in use
during a collision should also be inspected and new assemblies installed if either damage or incorrect operation is noted. Failure to follow
these instructions could increase the risk of injury in collisions.

To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not use any memory saver devices.
NOTE:

The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate
a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.

The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
Passenger retractor
1. When servicing the passenger safety belt retractor, depower the SRS.
All retractors
2. Remove the front and rear door scuff plate.
3. Open the D-ring cover.
4. Remove the D-ring nut.

To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
5. Remove the B-pillar trim panel.
Passenger retractor
6. When servicing the passenger safety belt retractor, disconnect the belt tension sensor (BTS) electrical connector.
All retractors
7. Remove the safety belt anchor bolt.

To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
8. Remove the safety belt retractor bolt and the safety belt retractor.

To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Passenger retractor
10. When servicing the passenger safety belt retractor, repower the SRS.
All retractors
11. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
