Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
4R100 Automatic Transmission
Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor and Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor
Removal
1. NOTE: The 4x2 application and the 4x4 application are similar.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Loosen, but do not remove, the transmission insulator-to-crossmember support nuts.
3. Attach a suitable high-lift transmission Jack to the transmission.
4. Remove the two bolts retaining the heat shield to the transmission support crossmember.
5. NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
Remove the crossmember bolts and the crossmember.
6. Lower the rear of the transmission to gain access to the sensors.
