Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
VALVE - EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER PURGE
REMOVAL
1. WARNING: The evaporative emissions system contains fuel vapor and condensed fuel vapor. Although not present in large quantities, it
still presents the danger of explosion or fire. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery to minimize the possibility of an
electrical spark occurring, possibly causing a fire or explosion if fuel vapor or liquid fuel are present in the area. Failure to follow these
instructions may result in personal injury.
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve and the evaporative emissions vacuum control
hose.
3. Disconnect the two fuel vapor tubes.

Disconnect the EVAP canister purge outlet tube.

Disconnect the evaporative emission return tube.
4. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge valve.

Remove the bolts.

Remove the evaporative emission canister purge valve.
