6. Using an appropriate pry tool, press the release tab in. Remove the head restraint rod guides and discard.

The release tab is located beneath the head restraint release tab.

NOTE:

The LH and RH head restraint rod guides are not interchangeable.

Install new units during reassembly. The LH and RH head restraint rod guides will be damaged during removal.

7. Remove the LH, RH and front tower cap screw covers. Remove four tower cap attachment screws. 

NOTE:  The LH and RH tower cap covers are not interchangeable.

8. Remove the two retainer bracket screws and the bracket. 

NOTE:  Observe retainer bracket orientation. Do not reverse the bracket during installation.
