8. Remove the B-pillar trim insert and route the belt through the trim panel.

NOTE:  For pretensioner retractor disposal procedure, refer to Air Bag Systems.

9. Pull out the pin-type retainers and remove the web guide.

10. Remove the safety belt retractor pretensioner.

1. Using the special tool, remove the bolt.
2. Remove the safety belt retractor pretensioner.

Lift the safety belt retractor pretensioner at the bottom and pull out, disengaging the upper bracket.

INSTALLATION

WARNING:  TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS AND
NOTES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE REMOVAL PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.

2. Install the safety belt retractor pretensioner.

Insert the upper tab of the safety belt retractor pretensioner and pivot the assembly downward.

Using the special tool, install the bolt.

NOTE:  Make sure that after an Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) is installed that the retractor is not in the ALR mode of operation.
