Axle Bearing: Service and Repair
Ford 8.8 Inch Rear Differential
Rear Wheel Bearing and Axle Shaft Oil Seal
Special Tool(s)
Removal
1. Remove the axle shaft.
2. NOTE: If the wheel bearing oil seal is leaking, the rear axle housing vent may be plugged.
Using the special tools, remove the rear axle bearing and wheel bearing oil seal.
Installation
1. Lubricate the new rear wheel bearing with rear axle lubricant.
2. Using the special tools, install the rear wheel bearing.
