Fan Blade: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

WARNING: DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE WHILE THE PROTECTIVE COMPONENTS ARE REMOVED. 

1. Remove the air cleaner.
2. Drain the cooling system.

3. Remove the front air deflector.

a. Remove the screws.
b. Remove the front air deflector

4. Remove the upper radiator hose from the radiator.

5. Remove the radiator coolant recovery reservoir hose from the radiator.

a. Release the (A) hose clamp and slide it away from the end of the (B) hose.
b. Slide the (A) radiator coolant recovery reservoir hose off the (B) radiator fitting.

6. Remove the fan blade assembly and fan clutch.

a. Use Fan Clutch Holding Tool to hold the water pump pulley steady.
b. Use Fan Clutch Wrench to remove the fan blade and the fan clutch.

NOTE:  The fan clutch has RH threads.
