Level Control Solenoid Valve: Description and Operation
The vent solenoid valve allows air to escape from the system during venting operations.
The vent solenoid valve is located above the air compressor cylinder head enclosed in the cylinder head casting. This forms an integral valve housing
that allows the valve tip to enter the pressurized side of the system.
The valve tip uses an O-ring seal which prevents air leakage past the valve tip.
The valve solenoid opens when the rear of the vehicle is high and the control module determines that lowering is required. When the vent solenoid valve
opens it provides an escape route for pressurized air.
The vent solenoid valve is not a serviceable item.
