2. Mark the driveshaft flange and the driveshaft rear axle companion flange for correct alignment during installation.
3. Remove the four rear driveshaft bolts, and disconnect the rear driveshaft.

Position the driveshaft out of the way.
4. Remove the pinion nut.

Use a suitable companion flange holding tool.
5. Remove the rear axle companion flange, using the 2-Jaw Puller for Differential Case Bearings.

Remove the rear axle drive pinion seal.
^
Remove the rear axle drive pinion shaft oil slinger.
