Choke Tube - Choke Loading/Rough Idle On Warm Up

If one of the above-mentioned vehicles experiences choke loading and/or rough idles during cold drive and warm-up, the following choke system checks
and modifications may be performed:
A.
Verify the following engine adjustments are set to the specification on the engine decal.
1.
Engine initial timing.
2.
Choke cap (9 848) setting.
3.
Curb idle and fast idle speeds.
NOTE:
The fast idle setting is on the kickdown stop of the cam.
B.
Verify the installation of the choke air supply tubes at the intake manifold.
1.
Assemble and seat both choke supply tubes. Tighten the hot supply tube nut at the carburetor.
2.
Install clip No. 389725 over both tubes to fasten/lock the tubes in position. The 3/8 end of the clip goes over the insulated sock (heat tube)
and the 5/16 end clips over the fresh air tube. Position clip near midway where the tubes come together.
