Oil Cooler: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery ground cables, then drain cooling system.
2.
Remove fan shroud, then the fan and clutch assembly. The fan retaining nut has left hand threads.
3.
Raise and support vehicle.
4.
Drain engine oil and remove oil filter. Do not reinstall drain plug.
5.
On F-250---350 models, remove left engine mount insulator to frame attaching nut, then raise left side of engine slightly and install a one inch
wooden block between insulator and frame. Lower engine to rest on block.
6.
On all models, remove oil cooler attaching bolts and the oil cooler, Fig. 17.
7.
Reverse procedure to install.
