ACTION:
To prevent water entry, install a new air cleaner assembly (E7TZ-9600-A) featuring a water drain system with an internal baffle and a water
resistant element (E7TZ-9601-A), see Figure 41. A drain hose (E7TZ09F765- A) which is included as part of the new air cleaner assembly
is also available for service. Use the following procedure.
1.
Disconnect the flex hose from the air cleaner tray.
2.
Remove the air cleaner wing bolt.
3.
Lift and remove the entire air cleaner assembly as a unit.
CAUTION: If the air cleaner assembly is not removed as a unit, contamination (internal to the engine) could result in engine damage.
4.
Be sure that the rubber gasket seal between the air cleaner and intake manifold is removed with the air cleaner.
