Thoroughly clean and inspect the hub bore, Figure 2.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE HUB BORE IS FREE OF DIRT, GREASE, BURRS OR NICKS.

NOTE:

HUB BEARINGS MUST BE PRELUBED WITH GREASE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. USE XG-1-C GREASE OR EQUIVALENT.

Pack each bearing cone and roller assembly with a bearing packing tool.

Install the seal in the hub with the Ford logo facing up, Figure 3.

CAUTION: HUB SEAL MUST BE FREE OF DIRT OR GREASE.
