VENTURI VACUUM AMPLIFIER (VVA) - Used with some EGR systems so that carburetor venturi vacuum can control EGR valve operation. Venturi
vacuum is desirable because it is proportional to the airflow through the carburetor.

W

Wastegate Control

WASTEGATE CONTROL - A device that senses vacuum air pressure from the compressor side of the turbocharger, or is electronically controlled to
open the wastegate in case of an overboost from a turbocharger.
WIDE-OPEN THROTTLE VALVE (WOTV) - In some EGR applications it is desirable to cut of EGR flow at wide-open throttle where a richer fuel
mixture is needed for performance. Valve is vacuum actuated when "full throttle" signal is received from the carburetor.

Z

ZIP TUBE - Another name for "fresh air duct."
