H3 BYPASS THE SJB
-
Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch out of the DOME LAMP position.

Disconnect: SJB C2280a.

NOTE: If the jumper wire fails, refer to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. Run the on-demand self-test
(required to clear certain DTCs). Correct any unresolved DTCs. Clear all DTCs. Test the system for normal operation.

Connect a fused jumper wire between the SJB C2280a-2, circuit CLN25 (VT), harness side and battery positive.

Do the running board lamps illuminate?
Yes
REMOVE the jumper wire. GO to H6.
No
REMOVE the jumper wire. REPAIR circuit CLN25 (VT) for an open. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

H4 CHECK CIRCUIT CLN25 (VT) FOR AN OPEN

Disconnect: Suspect Running Board Lamp.

NOTE: The courtesy lamps must be active during this test.

Open any door.
-
Measure the voltage between the suspect running board lamp, harness side and ground as follows:

Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to H5.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
