ISSUE
Some 2008 F-Super Duty vehicles built before 5/10/2007 and equipped with a 5.4L or 6.8L engine and single rear wheels (SRW), with a customer
concern of power steering pump noise while driving and with hotter than normal powering steering fluid, replace the power steering pressure line.
To reduce future customer concerns related to power steering pump noise while driving, or when diagnosing a possible leak at the pressure line to pump
connection, replace the power steering pressure line.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Replace the power steering pressure line per the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-00.
NOTE
INSPECT THE SERVICE PART FOR THE JULIAN DATE CODE AND ONLY USE THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE IF THE
JULIAN DATE CODE IS GREATER THAN 348. (Figure 1)

Perform the power steering system purging and filling procedure per WSM, Section 211-00.
