Removal and Installation
CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or failure of the power
steering components may result.
All vehicles
1. Using a suitable suction device, drain the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering pump supply hose.
3. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering supply hose-to-power steering fluid cooler hose.
Vehicles with Hydro-Boost(R)
4. Release the clamp and disconnect the hydraulic booster supply hose.
Vehicles with 6.4L engine
5. Disconnect the fuel charge cooler hose from the fluid reservoir.
All vehicles
6. NOTE: The fluid reservoir bolts have a dry adhesive on the threads and should not be reused.
Remove the 2 power steering fluid reservoir bolts.

Discard the bolts.

To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Fill the power steering system.
