5. Install the Pinion Shaft Thread Protector and, with a soft-faced hammer, drive the pinion out of the front bearing cone and remove it through the
rear of the housing.
6. NOTE: Remove the collapsible spacer and discard it.
Use the Bearing Pulling Attachment to remove the pinion bearing.
7. NOTE: Do not remove the pinion bearing cups from the carrier casting unless the cups are damaged.
Remove the outer differential bearing cup with the long handle and the Pinion Bearing Cup Remover (Outer).
8. Remove the inner differential bearing cup with the long handle and the Pinion Bearing Cup Replacer (Inner).
Installation
1. Install the inner and outer bearing cups.

After placing the inner and outer bearing cups in their bores, place the Pinion Bearing Cup Replacer (Inner) on the inner pinion bearing cup.

Place the Pinion Bearing Cup Replacer (Outer) on the outer pinion bearing cup.
